Scenic Patio Door Extension & Upgrade In Hounslow
The client was unsure about what type of patio door style he should use for his new extension project. After visiting and talking to one of Marvin's senior design technicians in the showroom in Brentford, the client was able to assess what value they wanted to get out of their new patio doors.
A Past Client’s Vision For An Upgraded Extension
Marvin Architectural was approached by the client at the Grand Designs Live event in London during their extension planning stage. The client had originally replaced their windows with Marvin’s finely crafted wooden casement windows in 2014.
He was delighted with his new window units and instantly noticed an increase in home comfort which included lower utility bills and more daylight entry into the rooms. He also noted that the windows were constantly getting compliments from visiting friends and family, particularly the slim profiles and narrow glazing bar designs.
How to Determine The Value In A New Patio Door?
The client was unsure about what type of patio door style he should use for the new extension project. After visiting and talking to one of Marvin’s senior design technicians in the showroom in Brentford, the client was able to assess what value he wanted to get out of their new patio doors.
The client had determined that functionality was the most important need for them, followed by design and energy efficiency. He wanted to be able to open the patio door with a large sizeable opening in order to create a grand entrance to the garden for the summer and to maximise daylight in the winter.
The patio door design was an important factor for the client, as he wanted the new patio doors to be inline with the current slim window style and colour. The client had also requested a fixed window unit to be fitted above the new patio doors.
Marvin’s Scenic Patio Door Provides A Luxurious Solution
Marvin’s wooden bi-fold door offered the ultimate solution for the client’s patio door extension. The Marvin bi-fold doors were configured to meet the size of each new opening. Marvin’s in-house architectural department designed two 4-panel wooden bi-fold doors and one 3-panel bi-fold door. All 3 bi-fold doors had a custom-mulled pentagon shaped window with a special awning feature fitted above. The awning window feature offered the client an inconspicuous ventilation option to infuse the interior room with fresh air.
A single wood side entrance door with a large glazing panel was also selected by the client.
Marvin’s concealed multi-point locking system secured the new patio doors solidly at three points. The specially engineered extruded aluminium tracking system provided an effortless and smooth sliding operation.
The narrow door panel and slim frame designs allowed for a truly beautiful architectural feature, that instantly enhanced the facade of the home. The large glazing panels maximised the entrance of natural light, which instantly enhanced the aesthetics of the interior rooms. The Low E glazing and argon gas provided greater energy efficiency which would help keep utility bills down for the client.
The client had opted for the full design, supply and installation package, which was all managed in-house by Marvin’s highly experienced project management team.
